Remember: Girls aren’t required to attend our events with their troop. Any Girl Scout member, including Indie Girl Scouts, can register with her caregiver!

Cave Explorers 04-27-24
Calling all Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors with a sense of adventure—get your flashlights ready and head into Laurel Caverns to learn about the natural wonders of the underground world. This adventure includes a guided tour of the caverns and a special flashlight tour. This unique experience gives us the opportunity to go with a guide using only our flashlights to explore the cave as spelunkers would! Everyone who comes will get a caving fun patch for participating. A morning and afternoon session are available.

Cave Crew at Laurel Caverns 04-27-24
Put on your boots and let’s be fearless cave explorers for the day! Those with an interest in the natural wonders of the underground world are invited to come to Laurel Caverns for a guided tour of the cave. We will explore the lighted part of the cavern and then head into the newly opened natural rooms of the cave which will give you an introductory caving experience without all the climbing and technical gear. Our tour will end with an opportunity to learn about panning for gemstones and you will give it a try yourself to see what you can find! Everybody who participates will get the caving fun patch.

SUP Yoga! with SurfSUP 06-01-24
Grab your swimsuit and let’s get out on the water for a fun day of trying new things and exploring nature on a standup paddleboard (SUP). Your SUP yoga and eco-adventure at Moraine State Park begin with paddling instructions and getting comfortable on your board with the help of instructors of SurfSUP Adventures. You will then be led on a guided eco-tour through ancient glacial rocks and beautiful coves. Next, you will paddle to an on-water yoga studio tucked away in a hidden bay, drop anchor, and get moving while fully immersed in nature! The activity is suitable for all skill levels, and first-timers of yoga and paddleboarding are welcome.

Girl Scout Family Fun Day at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park & Laguna Splash 06-23-24
School’s out and fun’s in! And nothing screams celebrating summer better than spending the day at an amusement park and water park—except maybe the squeals of joy from the top of a rollercoaster or water slide! Join Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania on Sunday, June 23, for our second annual fun-filled day at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park & Laguna Splash in Tipton!

Pinewood Car Building Workshops (Lawrence County) 03-16-24
GIRL SCOUTS, START YOUR ENGINES! Girl Scouts in Lawrence County will be hosting their third annual Pinewood Car Race in April and Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania is ready to help raise the checkered flag! Join our staff at a Pinewood Car Building Workshop and ride away with a racer ready to zoom down the track. We are partnering with service units in Lawrence County to host TWO Pinewood Car Building Workshops—a morning session for Daisies and Brownies and an afternoon session for Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. This event is open to any Girl Scout, whether you are participating in Lawrence County’s race or another local pinewood car race.

James Green Service Unit Journey-in-a-Day (Mercer County) 04-13-24
Brownies—learn about the importance of water and water conservation through the Wonders of Water Journey. Juniors—explore energy and how to use it wisely in the Get Moving Journey. Badges earned and a snack will be provided, and a service project will be completed during the day’s activities.

In this shipped program box, you will learn about the wonders of weather and earth science through hands-on and experimental activities. You will conduct several different experiments related to science and weather.
